How often do you take a shower? Many of my American friends take a shower once in two days.
I was so surprised when I found it out because we take a shower every single day in Japan.
I know that some people think taking a shower every day is bad for us, but we think differently.

We take a bath for our health. It’s been said that warming your body is pretty important to get rid of fatigue especially in winter.
Also, there are so many other benefits from taking a bath. However, I’m going to focus on the different ways to take a bath between the US and Japan this time.

First of all, we have very different type of shower room.
I think these(below) are the typical western shower room.
On the other hand, this(below) is the shower room in my house in Japan.
As you can see, we always have bathtub and handheld shower head. Also, most of the Japanese houses have a chair and a bucket. Plus, usually the toilet and the bath is located separately.
It depends on people, but we use body scrub towel when we wash our body.
I’ve seen some brush type of body scrub in the US,
but often times, the brush is too hard for our skin so we use scrub towel.
It’s long enough to wash your back.

Furthermore, Japanese bath has a lot of functions, such as reheating, automatic bath filling system, and air-conditioner.
Personally, I think this difference came from how people think about the function of taking a bath.
Japanese people think it as relaxing, getting rid of fatigue and dirt.
On the other hand, people in most of other countries think it as getting rid of dirt.

Cultural difference lurks in our daily lives!
